Biographical Sketch
Tanjin is currently working on her PhD research with the VIVA group at University of Virginia. She completed her bachelors in Electronics and Communication Engineering from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Masters in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University.
Research Interests
Tanjin's research interest lies in the area of signal and image processing, data mining, and machine learning. During her Masters, she worked to develop a human biogeographical ancestry classification model based on genomic features. During her PhD, initially she worked on developing a machine learning based automatic regularization-parameter tuning technique for optimizing the performance of parameter-dependent image processing algorithms. Besides, she also worked on the enhancement of microscopy cell images. Currently, she is working on developing an automatic image analysis framework to study microbial biofilms.
