Biographical Sketch

Pickard is currently working towards a PhD in the Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of Virginia under the guidance of Dr. Klaus Ley.

Research Interests

John Pickard's research with VIVA included registration and segmentation of contrast enhanced ultrasound cardiac images for perfusion analysis. His current research interests include the leukocyte adhesion cascade, the endothelial surface layer, and hemodynamic effects on leukocyte rolling and firm adhesion.  In his coursework Pickard has concentrated in biomedical imaging and automated image and signal processing.
